PriorIties

for District 8

Responsible Growth & Overdevelopment Oversight

New development must match the capacity of our communities. I’ll push back on projects that overload our schools, roads, and public resources. Growth should be smart, planned, and respectful of the neighborhoods we already have, not rushed or forced onto communities that cannot support it.

Ensuring Growth Pays for Infrastructure

When development occurs, it must contribute to the roads, schools, public safety, and stormwater systems needed to support it. I’ll support policies that ensure growth helps fund the infrastructure and community improvements required in the areas where it happens.

Public Safety & Emergency Services

Safe neighborhoods are the foundation of strong communities. I’ll support hiring more police officers, expanding take-home car programs, increasing EMS staffing, and advocating for new and modern firehouses. Public safety must always remain a top priority.

Protecting Rural & Waterfront Areas

Our land and waterways define District 8. I’ll fight to preserve open space, protect our rivers and creeks, and advance conservation efforts that protect the natural beauty and environmental health of our community for future generations.

Revitalizing Urban Communities

Essex, Middle River, and White Marsh deserve real investment and opportunity. I’ll work to attract good-paying jobs, support local businesses, and bring responsible redevelopment that strengthens our commercial corridors and improves quality of life.

Keeping District 8 Affordable for Seniors & Working Families

Rising taxes and costs are forcing longtime residents out of the communities they helped build. I’ll propose property tax relief measures to help seniors stay in their homes and support policies that keep District 8 affordable for working families. Our neighbors should be able to retire and remain in the community they love.

Investing in Schools & Infrastructure

Our students and families deserve better. I’ll fight for the classrooms, roads, and public facilities our area has been denied, and make sure growth never outpaces the infrastructure needed to support our communities.

Community-First Leadership

District 8 needs fair representation and a strong voice on the County Council. I’ll show up, listen to residents, and fight to make sure our communities receive the resources and attention they deserve.

Josh Sines:

Leadership You Can Count On

I’m not running to be a career politician. I’m running to be a County Councilman who shows up, listens, and delivers results.

Whether someone voted for me or not, I’ll work every day to earn their trust by being accessible, honest, and focused on solving problems that matter to District 8.

Accountability

Government should answer to the people.

I’ll demand transparency, fight wasteful spending, support independent oversight, and make sure your tax dollars are invested where they’ll make the biggest difference for our communities.

Common Sense Leadership

Every decision I make will come back to one simple question:

Is it good for the people of District 8?

That means putting our communities ahead of politics, standing up for taxpayers, protecting public safety, and making decisions based on facts, not politics.

Protecting What Makes District 8 Special

Our waterways, parks, farms, neighborhoods, and local businesses are what make this community home.

I’ll work to protect our quality of life while supporting responsible growth that strengthens our existing communities instead of leaving them behind.

Working Together

Real leadership isn’t about political labels.

I’ll work with Republicans, Democrats, Independents, community organizations, businesses, first responders, and anyone willing to help move District 8 forward.

Because at the end of the day, we’re all working toward the same goal:

A safer, stronger, and more prosperous Eastern Baltimore County.

Common Sense. Community First. Conservation.
